Set up your own skateboard
A short video to help you to set up your own skateboard.
A video to help you set up your first skateboard. If you already know how to assemble it, you can take a look at the main rules of the skatepark.
The first step is to put the grip on your board. You can use a cutter knife to cut it. If you don’t feel capable, you can ask an adult for help. We will not forget to make the 8 holes where we will put the screws.
We introduce the screws in the holes and install the trucks. To tighten the screws and nuts, use the skate tool (T-wrench). If you don’t have a special skateboard tool yet, your home hardware will do just fine.
We put 2 bearings in each of the 4 wheels (in total there are 8 bearings). To correctly insert the bearing, it can be entered by pressing the wheel in the axle. We put back the 4 nuts so that the wheels do not come off the axle. And we tighten until we reach a very minimum clearance (so that your wheels are not blocked).
You see, it’s so easy to build your own skateboard! You can now go out and use it for your next skate session.
For those who want to buy a skateboard, here is an article with some recommendations on how to choose the right skateboard.
